 What We Believe
We Believe...in the one true and living God, maker of all creation; the all knowing, all powerful, everywhere present, eternal Father; the source of all goodness, truth, and love; who has manifested himself in his Son, Jesus Christ, for the purpose of redemption and as the Holy Ghost for the purpose of intervening in the lives of people (Deuteronomy 6:4; II Corinthians 13:14; 1Timothy 1:17; 3:16; 6:13-16)

We Believe…in the divine inspiration of the Scriptures, and that the original manuscripts of the Old and New Testaments of the Bible are the Word of God given through people, and that the Scriptures we possess today are the sufficient rule of faith and practice and the final authority for truth and salvation. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21)

We Believe…in the gospel of Jesus Christ, which declares Him to be the only begotten Son of God, who was born of a virgin and who lived to show us the words and works of God. As the savior he was crucified and died on the cross in our place to be the supreme sacrifice for sin. He was buried in a tomb but rose again the third day, as the Scriptures foretold., and is now exalted as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. As God manifested in the flesh, He is true God and true man; in Him dwells the fullness of the Godhead (Acts 10:38-40; I Corinthians 15:1-4; Colossians 2:9)

We Believe…in salvation as wholly the work of God's free grace, not the result , in whole or in part, of human works or goodness. God offers salvation to people on the basis of Jesus' death on the cross in payment for our sin. Jesus triumphed over death in His resurrection and now occupies His position of exaltation at God's right hand. To obtain salvation, a person must repent of sin, trust in Jesus alone as Savior, and receive the risen Christ as Lord of his or her life. This expresses the core of the Christian faith: what is called the Gospel (good news). Belief in the gospel is required for a person to be a Christian. (Romans 10:9-10; John 1:12; 3:16)

We Believe…in baptism in water - a declaration to the world that a believer has died with Christ and that they have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47: Romans 6:4)

We Believe…in the celebration of the Lord's Supper by eating of the bread and drinking of the cup is a remembrance of Jesus. (II Corinthians 11:24-30)

We Believe…that all believers are entitled to, and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to the command of Jesus Christ. With this comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowment of gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 2:38-39; 10:44046; 11:14-16; 15:7-9; I Corinthians 12:1-31)
